Survey of area residents: Bowden should stay
democrat staff report • November 21, 2009
Most area residents believe FSU coach Bobby Bowden should coach one more year or coach as long as he wants, according to a TallahasseeVoices survey.
About 476 members of the 6,000-member panel responded to an Internet survey, conducted this month. The panel is sponsored by Kerr & Downs Research, the
Tallahassee Democrat, WFSU and WFSU-FM.
Thirty-three percent said Bowden should be able to coach at Florida State University as long as he wants. Another 24 percent said he should be given only one more year to coach.
However, the biggest chunk of people — 43 percent — said he should retire or be terminated after the season ends. FSU is 5-5 so far this season.
When asked about Jimbo Fisher's reputation after this season's offense, 57 percent said it was unchanged; 26 percent said it had been damaged; and 17 percent said it had been enhanced.
