Agree 100%...

Lakers are the best team in basketball.

If Bynum continues to play like this and Artest can continue to blend in and learn the offense I do not think anyone can beat this team in a 7 game series...

Our first rankings of the season looks a lot like the last one, with Boston and the Lakers battling for the top spot. Phoenix’s fast start has them at No. 3. Perhaps because Shaq has moved on to Cleveland. Is it a coincidence the Cavaliers are only No. 6 right now?

1. Boston Celtics (8-1)
Paul Pierce playing in his 12th season with Boston; only eight players have had longer careers with the storied Celtics.

Artest is the difference. The guy is incredible on defense and him and Kobe are two elite defenders that make up for the softness in the paint.

Power ranking are about today and based on the Lakers not having Gasol. The OP said when Gasol returns the league should watch out. I agreed with his post.

Regardless, the Lakers are the defending champs... aka the team to beat.

When you are playing at a high level (#1 in the west) and you are the defending champs then I will say they are the best team in the league. I said the same thing about Boston last year.

Artest is fitting in great on defense. I think he will be much better on offense as the season progresses.

The good part about the Lakers is that he doesn't have to do much on offense. He's not the best shooter but can definitely make some buckets when needed.

I still don't think they were the best team in the NBA last year. This year I think they are.

Who do you think was best? Celtics with KG?

Yeah I think a healthy KG on the C's and it would have been Boston in 5 or 6. The best team doesn't always win it all.

Didn't Boston lose at home to the Hawks?

No real reason for him to gloat.

Lakers lost on the road without there second best player vs. a team that lost in the WC finals.

Boston lost at home to atl by double digits.
