42-21 Stanford in the 4th qtr -- if that score holds up USC is headed for "The Poinsetta Bowl".

or the emerald bowl....i wonder if a big 12 team can get into one of those bowls, OU/USC would be a good matchup

but they'll still be a great draw for a smaller bowl.....one of these bowls will get a steal with them...still very possilbe they end up in a good new years day bowl, like the outback bowl, or something along those lines....they wont be in the motor city bowl or anything like that....just not BCS this year......could easily see them in a solid bowl still

They've gotten absolutely bitchslapped the last 3 weeks. Had no business winning last week against a pathetic ASU squad.

Freshman QB threw 3 picks...

And Stanford said, here we come, try and stop us and USC couldn't!

This wasn't a "fluke". The better team won and won handily...

Pete seemed a little pissed at Harbaugh at the post game hand shake, didn't he???

i realize many of the bowls have "tie ins" i was simply referring to that "size" bowl.......one of the good paying bowls that isnt BCS, such as Cotton Bowl, Insight Bowl, Outback Bowl, Gator Bowl, Holiday Bowl and such....

as opposed to the Motor City Bowl, Texas Bowl, EagleBank Bowl, all the smaller ones like that

If Iowa wins next week, this could help pave the way for Iowa to be invited to a BCS bowl..........probably the Fiesta or Orange.

ummm, what superchuck means is just about all bowls have tie-ins and the pac-10 bowl tie-ins suck bad. no way USC goes to a 'respected non bcs bowl'.

-------

Pacific-10 Conference
The Pacific-10 Conference has six bowl tie-ins.[14]

#1 Bowl Championship Series. The Pac-10 champion gains an automatic berth to a BCS bowl game, preferentially the Rose Bowl.
#2 The Holiday Bowl receives the second choice of Pac-10 teams.
#3 The Sun Bowl receives the third choice of Pac-10 teams.
#4-5 The Maaco Bowl Las Vegas and the Emerald Bowl coordinate their selections of the fourth and fifth teams to provide geographically favorable match-ups.
#6 The Poinsettia Bowl receives the sixth choice of Pac-10 teams. In years where the Pac-10 does not have six bowl eligible teams, the Poinsettia Bowl will select from the WAC instead.
