When is it going to stop. Every time I turn to CNN they are talking about U.S. body counts in Afghan or Iraq. I mean how do these families of these dead soliders feel about their sons, husbands, etc, dying for nothing. No noble cause like the world wars or against the japs..nothing. What business does the U.S have in Iraq? Weapons of mass destruction my ass. Not only are the young men in the U.S army being killed over there but they are dying in shame and bringing shame to their families dying for the U.S government that's using them to act as terrorists in other countries. It's just disgraceful.

I just hope the americans smarten up one day and raise their voices against the government instead of being fooled by propaganda or being distracted by football or bars, or whatever. In the old days people revolted against the government when it was being evil, nowadays people do nothing and go about their business. It's terrible.

That's my rant of the day. Go Panthers!!

Hey, let's invent a phony war on terror and get a bunch of our kids killed in a far away land..or at least have most of them rotting out there in some 3rd world country. It's a disgrace.

Sumday, to disagree about how to fight the war on terror is fine.

To call it phony or invented, especially post 9/11 is ludicrous. So is calling the US government terrorists. The United States is the most benevolent country in the world.

I thought my country, Canada, was the most benevolent country in the world. At least the most diplomatic.

What I meant was the US government gives more aid to other nations than any other country in the world.

Per capita, US citizens give more to charity than any other country in the world except one. And you don't want to know which country is first LOL!

deaths in Iraq? very few since the surge secured the country

deaths in Afghanistan? increasing
1) can't fight in Iraq anymore
2) country not secure
3) enemy emboldened by like of will

we will not get the cooperation of the residents until they feel their cooperation is not a threat to their families.

fight to win, or end it. Speaking in nuances doesn't work with wars.

It's not really a shame if both the soldier and country get something out of it. Both our country and soldiers can claim a moral high ground and proclaim nobility.

Our country keeps repeating the following mantras:
Protect our rights
Protect the world
Fight terrorism
Never let another 911 happen
Hunt down Al Queda
Destroy the Taliban

The soldier, in turn, replys with:
Serve my country
It is my duty
Protect our rights

Some people like to play charades, even if it costs them their lives.
