Considering previous food posts on this board, this is probably the wrong place to ask this this question, but I will ask anyway.

Does anyone eat a food that they dislike the taste of in order to eat healthy?

I eat these Snyder sourdough pretzel bits that taste like cardboard. It is a test of manhood just to eat a handful of them. It is either eat these, or eat Doritos all the time and die of a heart attack at 40.

I guess I could put peanut butter on them to make them more edible, but that would defeat the purpose.

Is there anyone else on this board suffering with me? It might make me feel better.

When I am training really hard I eat original Oatmeal with no flavor for breakfast. It taste like complete shit. Currently I am not training for anything just working out so I am eating whatever I want, but I feel your pain.

I do the same thing every other morning. I actually eat the regular oatmeal and cook it and add a very small amount of brown sugar.

I saw your post in the cereal thread about loving sugared cereal and milk. I am the same way. I can put down in one sitting half a box of just about any cereal easily. Cereal is just not that filling for me. I have to use self control when eating cereal. I generally stick to Cheerios, corn flakes, and rice crispies. Once every few months I will get Captain Crunch or something like that.

Back to the pretzels. I promise you, eating those Snyder pretzels is a lot more challenging than eating the oatmeal. I can barely put them down.

I bought a juicer. I put all kinds of crap in there and try to juice it with some fruit to take away the nasty taste and then I just down it as fast as I can.

Wow I don't think Snyder's pretzels are that bad. You probably already know this, but it isn't like pretzels are that healthy anyways being they are packed with sodium. If you struggle this much to eat something which isn't all that healthy anyways, why not just eat a handful of carrots instead?

Compared to Doritos they are.

It also depends on the pretzels.

A 30g gram serving of the pretzels I eat contain 0g of fat and 200mg of sodium and 120 calories

A 49g serving of nacho cheese Doritos contain 13 grams of fat and 310 grams of sodium and 250 calories.

Since the grams are different, I don't know if it is comparing apples to apples.

And I do eat a carrot every day.

Watch it In Spades. I sell Snyders pretzels.

The other Snyders pretzels are actually ok. The ones I eat aren't but seem the healthiest.

Prtezels are baked. Healthier than potato chips, which are fried. Snyders has a no-salt pretzel.

I rarely eat hard pretzels. I am fortunate enough to live in Philly, where the soft pretzels here are unreal, but when I buy a bag of hard pretzels I always buy this jalapeno cheddar dip that Heinz makes.

I don't get tofu either. Any chips made from soy is horrible also.

near as I know, it is sort of like Hamburger helper....sort of a neutral tasteless substance that you can toss into a casserole or such, picks up the flavor of the other stuff.

looks like a cheese.

Doesn't seem like preztels should be that essential that you need to force them down. Why not eat some broccoli, artichokes and carrots if you're forcing down?

The flavored Quaker rice snacks are great IMO. The cheddar cheese ones taste & feel almost exactly like eating Cheetos.

70cal & 2 grams of fat per serving.

Also come in chocolate, carmel corn, BBQ, ranch, sour cream and onion, apple cinnamon and a few others. The nutritional info is about the same on all of them. Great snack food replacement for chips.

Inspades:

Get the baked dorito's, they aren't too bad. I don't think eating Dorito's will give you a heart attack.

Every morning and night I drink "Amazing Green Superfood" Green Grass.

Imagine going on in your lawn mower bag grabbing a handful of fresh cut grass, blending it with a little water and adding a touch of dog urine....wuuula
