Seriously the place has gotten a little bit out of control. GOY and Biggest of my life. It's getting ridiculous now. It's not a thing to us veterans who know how to ignore the shit and laugh it off or better yet fade em', but for the newbies I feel sorry for them because they may get caught up in believing some of these things. The truth of the matter if you look at %75 of those so called HUGGEST plays they lose.

SO A NUGGET OF ADVICE FOR THE NEW GUYS AROUND TAIL AT YOUR OWN RISK. USUALLY WHEN YOU SEE THE PRETTY HOOKER THAT STOPS YOU & WANTS TO HAVE SEX WITH YOU FOR 5.00 SHE'S GOT A VD OR IS A COP. SO THINK BEFORE YOU ACT ON SOME OF THIS NONSENSE.

That's the best approach. Some people allow the fancy displays with flashing lights influence their purchase. That's the buyer beware i'm trying to put out there. lmao

I've been here for almost 10 years and it's been taken over by youngsters. Still a fun place but I agree the GOY, LOCK OF THE CENTURY picks do seem to be getting out of control.

2PLAYSMAX - regarding thread tiltes that include the the word lock.

None of the moderators like to see cappers use lock or GOY etc. kind of language when they describe their current selections but the other-side of that coin is censorship which is a touchy subject also.

Essentially we are between a rock and a hard place regarding how we allow cappers to label their daily or weekly threads, especially the ones that contain their selections.

I personally do not think the problem is that serious. Right now Page one of The NFL Forum does not contain a single thread with the word lock or GOY or GOM in the thread titles.

College Football does have less than half a dozen threads that have GOY, GOM and like terminoloogy out of the 45 threads on page one.

Regarding newbies, less experienced posters are the ones using gaudy thread titles moreso than veteran posters and sooner or later they hear about it from veteran posters in the various sport forums.

All of the curent in season sport forums contain sticky threads regarding behaviour and posting lines. As far as the word lock goes it has always been around this site

A more important issue IMO is for cappers to post widely available numbers when they post a selection. I have posted the following Rx policy on the subject many times.

Widely Available Numbers. <hr style="color: rgb(253, 222, 130); background-color: rgb(253, 222, 130);" size="1">   Attention Handicappers - Please use WA (Widely Available) numbers.
<hr style="color: rgb(253, 222, 130);" size="1">When you post a pick please use numbers that are widley available at the time of you're post. WA or widely available lines make it easy for everyone to use the play. I have recieved several E-mails asking me to make an announcement.

Remember this is not a popularity contest but a handicapping forum - lets make it as easy as possible for everyone to participate. If you use free half point outs simply state so.Laying -6 at 7AM yourself then posting that same pick at the same -6 when it is up to -7 or 7.5 by 4PM when you get a chance to post helps no one. There is no -6 to be had and -7 or -7.5 is a long way off -6.

The same goes for baseball posting a favorite at -125 when you played it the night before and saying it is a play when the game is now -145 the next afternoon when you post does little good for anyone. Remember post the number that is widely available for all at the time of you're post.

I feel your pain, but I would say 85 % of the youngsters are gone withing 6 weeks, either by lack of credibility, embarassment, bannishment etc. etc. etc.
Like everybody else, I just ignore the garbage (unless they start a "I am such a loser thread", then I can't help myself to dogpile on.)

These days we have over 1000 posters that actually post (some very seldom, other very frequently). All I can say is just ignore the thread titles that for one reason or another offend you. We do out best to keep the profanity out of the sport forums but some cappers and I use the term loosely in this case like to get dramatic with their thread titles to attract attention.
