If they can defeat #58 MICHIGAN STATE(Sagarin rating) they can celebrate because this will be the highest ranked team they have defeated all season.

They are a slight favorite to actually pull this feat off.

WIN-WIN....LOSE-LOSE situation for Iowa.

As you stated, a lose by PSU would hurt the Iowa resume.

However, a loss would eliminate any chance of PSU being taken over Iowa for a BCS bid.
