7:30 in the morning here and I have to watch two shit teams...LSU vs Ole Miss was the first game we got here in Thailand....oh well, better than nothing...Same with the NFL, we get two games that start at one in the morning and the Sunday night game starts at 8:30 in the morning...then the sports channel gives us replays of about 4 other games during the week during the afternoon hours here...

How severe are the penalties if the decide to go after you?

They have often arrested Thais for playing low limit games if they are loud and bother others...

If you are caught playing higher stakes, they will fine you and let you rot in jail for a couple days...

Really a minor offense if nobody gets hurt or complains, but do not under any circumstance get arrested for drugs or under-age sex offenses..You will be in jail for a long time...

I attend a backgammon club here and we gamble small at a local restaurant...sometimes the cops are there and as long as no money exchanges hands it is OK...

The only real penalty will be that you have to pay "tea money" to whoever asks for some. Beyond that, there would be little to fear for a white collar "crime" such as online gambling.

In fact, a lot of people who play poker for a living have moved to Thailand and other similar countries to avoid all or a portion of taxes, lower cost of living, etc and have no problems. It's not like there is someone from the Thai government monitoring the internet waiting for someone to log on to an internet gambling web site and place a bet. They have better things to do, such as collecting tea money from farang's and making like difficult for tourists, thus driving away a lot of potential tourism. Same same.

That LSU/Ole Miss game was actually entertaining..caught all of the 2nd half. That McClauster kid is going to do big things in the NFL, in my opinion..

Actually it depends upon which part of Thailand you are in. In Phuket, all gambling sites are blocked by the local ISP. Farang's are treated like kings because they want their tourist dollar.
