I was wondering if anyone had seen either of these movies.

Is The Hurt Locker a war movie or a movie that takes places during a war, but more to the storyline?

Hurt Locker was best movie I have seen in quite some time. Very realistic story of soldier who defuses IED in Iraq

Don't understand why people shit on Jarhead but love The Hurt Locker. IMO two pretty similar movies (both well done).

Hurt Locker was a pretty subpar movie. Besides a copious amount of bombs, which every finds interest in, the movies storeline never really went any where

and lastly, the main (crazy) guy.... the directors efforts at making me believe he was a 'loose canon' were outrageous

If you like subtlety than you will like The Hurt Locker, if you want a more dynamic part with more action than you won't like it.

IMO A good type of movie to test it with is Lost in Translation. If you liked that, I think you will like The Hurt Locker.
