Gotta love that the NFL forces a team to kick the XP when time expires

I love that the NFL enforces this rule, and not only because I had the Titans at -2, but because I have been burned by this so many times in college.

Cost me the $3900 pick the score pot in the Tennessee/Kentucky game.

BTW. NFL does not enforce the extra point if TD scored in OT.

wonder why that is, unless they want to give the other team a chance to block the PAT and run it back for 2....or maybe for tiebreakers at the end of the year, because i think there's a tiebreaker that factors in points scored if the first couple tiebreakers don't resolve it.

Of course they don't in OT because its sudden death. I was just talking about regulation.... The NCAA should force the scoring team to kick the xp in regulation as well if they score with no time left.

Boxer, I feel your pain, but if there is 0:00 left on the clock, and the game is 'out', there is no need.

Well to me the XP is part of the touchdown. That's why I said the NFL does it right by forcing the scoring team with no time left in regulation to kick the XP. IMO.

they allow the point after to be kicked because it may actually influence a tiebreaker, albeit it's a very remote possibility

in the UConn vs Louisville game this year, they actually had the Cards kick the XP after time expired, and the point would have changed the ATS result. The Refs were making a mistake. However, Louisville missed the XP.

As weird a finish as there is.
