A 4 hour broadcast on HBO tonight. One of the best music shows that I've seen in a long time. Springsteen, U2, Jagger, Jeff Beck, ZZ Top, Lou Reed, Patti Smith, CS&N, Sting, B.B.King and many others. It makes the forgettable hip hop and country of the American Music Awards the other night look like pond scum. In case anybody has forgotten what real music sounds like.

I was enamored with the show. Could barely flip to the Balt. game. Outstanding lineup and great music to boot. I will get the DVD of it when it comes out. Made my day.

I was very surprised by this great lineup of musicians in one place. John Fogerty and Springsteen together on stage. U2 and Springsteen singing each other's songs "I still haven't found what I'm looking for" and "Promised Land." Lou Reed and Metallica doing Sweet Jane. Ray Davies and Metallica doing "You really got me". Mick Jagger, the Black Eyed Peas and U2 doing a killer version of "Gimme Shelter.". It was just nonstop rock and roll with all of these great artists sharing the stage. Even folk rockers Crosby, Stills & Nash rocked the place. Man, those guys are really looking old. But they haven't lost a step. The highlight of the night for me was Springsteen doing "Jungleland", which was a real show stopper. Hell, even Dion, Jerry Lee Lewis and Simon and Garfunkel early in the show were very good. You can tell this was a special show for all of these musicians. And they all gave 100% effort. With the ages of some of these rockers this could have been rock and roll's last hurrah.

Haven't seen all of it yet, but the Simon & Garfunkle set was great. Loved seeing Buddy Guy also.

Great concert! My favorite was when Bono, Jagger and Fergie were together. Actually think Fergie turned up the heat as Mick was smiling at her. All in all, brought back a lot of old memories and some new ones as well.

Lou Reed was fantastic. How many drugs did that guy ingest in his system over the years. Davies was great. Was nice to see that kind of mix. Anyone notice the musicians in the audience? Plenty of them.

Oh and Metallica. Not a very big fan but really love their passion.

It was Great.

Wasn't it staged over three nights?

DVD should include it all, maybe over ten hours.

RATM covered Ghost on a previous cd. I hate Springsteen, but that was a awesome version by them.

Ya, the Nightwatchman (one of two current projects of Tom Morello's) covers it regularly - but it's more like the Springsteen version /w cooler guitar solos. He's also played it /w Bruce quite a few times.

A nice show overall.

Too much Urethra Franklin, not enough Mick Jagger, IMO.

Jeff Beck missed with the muscle shirt ( and no muscles), and the gay scarf thing.

David Crosby looked 80 years old.

Springsteen was intense, played an angry guitar.

I'm not a huge Metallica fan, but they were good.

BB King and Ray Davies were nice touches

Lou Reed was kind of a miss, IMO

4.5 * out of a possible 5*
