The New York Yankees have signed another Taiwanese-born player in 18 year-old Kuo Fu-lin. The Yankees have been tracking the third baseman for over two years and believe he has big potential for the future.
Kuo is currently a student at National Taiwan College of Physical Education. It is believed the Yankees will pay a package of tuition and incidental fees as well as a signing-on bonus of between US$300,000 and 500,000.
Taiwan's current biggest sporting star, pitcher Wang Chien-ming, signed for the Yankees in 2000 and broke into the first team in 2005.
