Going to the SEC CHampionship Game this weekend. Making the drive from Tampa to Atlanta. I'm going to drive half of it on Thursday and the other half on Friday.

I was looking for somewhere nice to stay halfway in between. I guess Valdosta is one of the only ones I could come up with and wanted to see if anyone else had any ideas?

Just a nice area, with nice restaurants or hotels that I could stay at for 1 night.

Anyone familiar with the Georgia area?

Box-I don't know about south of ATL but there is a place east of Atl called Chateau Elan. If your bringing a female she will love it. I've never been myself but have heard great things about it. They have a couple of golf courses and a great spa . Pretty pricey but if you could drive all the way in one day you could relax before heading to the game.

I have some friends in Tampa. Georgia is great, Savannah is a great place to visit if you like architecture and history.

Hey box,

I live about 45 minutes from both Tifton and Valdosta and you can't go wrong with either city. They are both decent sized towns with good food and a mariot, hampton, or hilton to choose from. I think Tifton was named as part of the best 100 small cities in America. Either way, you can't go wrong with either place!

the buckhead section of atlanta is by far the best. On another note jekyll island georgia is beautiful. I spend 4 or 5 weeks there a year. have a great trip man.

Box, if your looking for good food than stay out of tifton. It is a nice town but it is small and doesn't really have any good places to eat. It is a college town so there are plenty of hotels but no good food, unless you like red lobster or a kystals buger. Your best best is really going to be Valdosta. I mean Macon is nice but if your driving to there you mind as well just drive to Atlanta. Valdosta has your typical steak places like Outback, Texas Roadhouse, and Longhorn but if you don't want a chain I would suggest Charlie Tripper's. They have good quality steaks as well as some seafood. Its not a cheap place but not over the top expensive either. Something like 25 to 30 bucks for a ribeye or NY strip. They also have a pretty good wine list if your into that. They have a webisite i believe so you can google it if you would like.

I actually heard of that place. Sounds like a winner.

I'm going to "Bones" when I am in Atlanta. So, looks like a big weekend of steak and football. Can't go wrong with that.

Thanks for taking the time.

Box whenever your gators make it back to Omaha for the CWS, come up and I'll take you to some excellent steak houses.

Bones is one of my favorite places to eat in atlanta. Great food without the faggoty atmosphere.
