I was watching this game. When I saw it, I was like WTF. Ballard may have said something to Vokoun but it looked like after he wacked him, Ballard just skated away.

What I don't get is:

If he indeed was swinging for the net, but instead practically chopped
his own goalie's head off, how do you then just skate away like nothing
happened?
