I was talking with a guy down at home depot this morning and he is a home re-habber and he was telling me he got 25k grant from the government to repair an old home that he bought. believe the home was built in the 1930's era. He owns the house and, gets money to restore it and doesnt have to pay it back? he said he is just going to flip the house after all the repairs are made and pocket the profit? it sounds bizarre but the way he carried him self and spoke, he was very knowledgeable and confident. It was hard not to believe him but it sounds too good to be true. That is like free money to build a business? but what is the gov getting out of it?

i know there is a ton of grants out there like this. you can get grants to travel to other countries to learn the language, repair homes even for women to start a business. i remember when late night infomercials were all about these. there are websites that have direct links to apply for these http://gov-funding-solutions.com/
my sister-n-law has applied lots of times for money to start her business but dont think she has ever receieved anything yet

well they extended this first time homebuyer credit.. I'm not an accountant by any means but this sounds too good to be true. They are trying to encourage people to buy homes, not fix them and sell them for a profit.
