I just sent my parents a laptop as an early Xmas present and have no experience with dial-up. She said that they dont send anyone over they just set it up over the phone and thats it. Does she only need to hook the phone line into the laptop or will she need to buy a modem?
Yeah will be slow but unfortunately for them they live too far off the grid for DSL, actually they are pretty fortunate if you think about it. Appreciate the help, i come from a long line of computer noobs.
For as much as they will use it dial up should be fine. Back in the day thats all there was, and life in Missouri isnt so different from being back in the day.
