Hi All,

I hope everybody is having a happy holiday season. I wish I could post more, but we have been slammed at SportsOptions - but I am not complaining!

We have released a new version of SportsOptions today. Here are some of the recent additions to our service:

  • Shaded opening line columns
  • Select sportsbooks to be displayed in the Odds Ticker
  • A new Records column that show the win/loss record for each team
  • Much improved Print Setup
  • Fixed-Left, Fixed-Right and Scroll columns
  • Line history, critical notices and scores archives
  • Multiple windows
  • Computer line for NBA and NCAA Basketball
You can still sign up for a 7 day free trial here. For a limited time, you can sign up for a free trial even if you have had one in the past.

SportsOptions also continues to lead the pack in injury reporting, both in speed and accuracy. Just one example - on Sunday, SO customers got the info on Kurt Warner over 15 minutes before other services.

A note to sportsbooks - SportsOptions includes a feature to help you monitor your lines for obvious mistakes. You can receive a popup message and even an email if you have a line that is way off the correct line. Also, if you have multiple Don Best services, we can save you over $4,000 per year. Please feel free to contact me direct with any questions - rick@sportsopitons.com.

Thanks
Rick

I have been very impressed with SO since I subscribed.

Are any stats kept on the 'computer lines'? Record ATS, distance from result/closing line etc?

Thanks BAS!

D2 - The computer line is a computer generated line for each game.

Santo - We don't have that info on the service, but we can get it from the database. I will ask our programmers to get it for me and forward it to you.

Thanks!

Thanks, RickA.
Is it possible to add a feature like this? To display spread only in the NBA/ NCAA basketball games. Right now, spread and total are displayed in the same box. For spread only bettor, total lines flashing around brings lots of headache.

Santo - we should have the computer line data in a few days.

Sunnyblue - if we add the option to not show totals, would you want the line for each side to be displayed? For example, tonight's game is:

Ohio 53
Central Michigan -13.5

If you don't show totals, would you want:

Ohio +13.5
Central Michigan -13.5

Goodcall - Thanks for explaining the multiple windows, this is a great feature for multiple monitors.

Thanks
Rick

Rick A is set to take over the whole line service industry. SO is flat out handing it to Don Best and I good and well know it. It should not be much longer, if not underway already, in my humble proffesional opinion only.

I will add that his opposite number here in Vegas, my boss, and a guy you have never heard of, has done the exact same thing to his former boss also, Jim Feist.

These two now positivly dominate what was once the very core of the Vegas Old Guard Stomping Grounds.

They do it in a style and fashion that is counter to a lot of the old ways at that. We are truly corprate and regulatory minded people as well.

Add myself and the other mostly 40 year old group out there who come with them + others whom are also starting to emerge in other corridors and all I can say is....

Do not look now, but a brand new breed has emerged, we are all grown up now, and flat out dominating in ways you can not see.

So says, The Voice of a New Generation.

Rick, when answering SunnyBlue's suggestion you say

My idea which I proposed to you at the bash in Las Vegas about four months ago and you said you would look into is as follows

Add two more screens along with the basic four you have now (Game, Game-ML, 1st Half, 2nd Half). Let's call them game sides, game totals. Show in each the line and the juice both sides. For example if the game was LAL and GST with the Lakers favored by 5 one would see for, say BetPhoenix,

Lakers -5-102
Golden State +5-108

for the GameSides screen. and

Lakers 195 -105
Golden State 195 -105

for the Game Total screen. Having both juice numbers is very handy when it comes to comparing numbers among different books especially for books that do not hang a 10, 14, 16, or 20 cent line. Here I am referring primarily to Matchbook and other exchanges.
