Whats the deal in ncaafb this year?

with the extra points?

seems like almost every time teams line up all players on one side grouped together, then everyone shifts over into normal formation, with kicker behind them, whats the point?

Is it just to try and set up a gadget play later on? If so, i never see anyone do it....they just all group together, then shift over, seems like a waste of time...

ive seen quite a few times where they will fast snap it and go for two if the defense is lazy and doesnt cover the unusual starting formation.

it sets up a nice isloation run if you have a fast qb as a holder or other skill position.

I have seen it work atleast 5 times if not more this year, where the holder either runs in or throws it to a wide open player in the endzone.

Teams have been doing it for years. Being an Irish fan, I am sure you are not used to seeing many TDs, so you are probably not that familiar with it.

On the other hand, with the Irish D, I am suprised you haven't seen it more often.

Teams use it in hopes that if the Defense doesn't follow, then they will snap and toss it to the left or right, which ever side is unbalanced.

The reason most teams don't do it, because they know the defense will lineup where ever the offense is, they aren't going to put all 11 over the center and let you have 7 guys out left, so you can convert an easy 2 pts.
