Anyone else notice how many NFL coaches now try to go for it on 4th down?

Ever since Bill Belichik did it, Iv'e noticed a huge increase in this.

Some coaches have lost all common sense too when deciding this as they ignore the game situation and score while just trying to "Go for it."

This is the one thing I hate about the league..............how all coaches are afraid to be a trendsetter. They are all copycats.

From the wildcat, to calling a timeout to freeze kickers at the last second, to now going for it on 4th down. Really shows how dumb and uncreative some of these guys are.

So your saying coaches go for it on 4th down because Belichik did it two weeks ago?

No. Just saying I noticed a lot more of them are doing it now when in the past they would have been more inclined to kick the Fg or punt the ball.

I think because the czar did it and failed, now all these other coaches feel they wont be too ridiculed for it, and if they are they can point to BB or the percentages which every TV network showed after that Patriots Colts game but that few coaches proabbly even knew.

You are just paying attention to it more.

Parcells used to go on 4th all the time.

Its like when you buy a car, say a BMW, all of a sudden it seems like everyone has a BMW.

i assume you're referring to how many times Fisher went for it today. But in general if you are down 2 or more scores and in the redzone you might as well go for it, instead of the FG.
I know it didn't work out for Tenn today, but Indy does have a tough D, and they had a few breaks with Tenn mishaps.

Fisher also went for it because it was a do or die situation. His team had to play for the win the whole game. It was either win and still have a chance at the playoffs or lose and your out of the picture.

Is it also maybe because teams are just scoring more this season and the team that is trailing feels pressure to go for it to keep up?
