about a month ago i started playing online poker again out of boredom. i reupped at pokerstars and didnt even know i had an account there. i used to play casually like 4 yrs ago but this go around im playin more serious. back then id play the 9 player sng rings but lately ive been playing the 10 player double up stuff. i havent had a losing day in 2 weeks at least and slowly working up bankroll, theres some fuckin dumb people out there.

at what lvl buy in do the double or nothings start getting decent players?

what games do you guys play? are the bigger tourneys better money over time? or is 1 table best? or cash tables?

Used to play strictly double-ups like yourself. When you get up in money the quality of play is better. I made the mistake of going up in money before I had the BR. Lost a little.

Play deep tournaments now. 500 people +. I find it a lot better because you don't have to succeed all the time, or even half the time. You can play like crap for days, then be locked in for one tournament and make it all back and then some.

What I'm saying is, the payouts and return on investment are much better in MTTs than SnGs. When I do play SnGs I try and play the 6-person.

cool , thanks for advice. ive played maybe a half dozen of the 5000 player fpp tourneys . actually placed 6th in one and won 15 whole dollars which seemed like some bullshit really

ive played a few 90 players and 180 players but seems like not enough people get paid to make it worth the time. plus with blinds going up so fast it seems like more of a coinflip

***ooooh - just now found the tab with the more attractive tourneys! think ill try a few of these tomorrow

I know what you mean. I play small stakes and a couple of weeks ago I cashed in three straight tournaments of about 500+ people. But I couldn't break through big, I was just barely scraping the prize pool. And it seemed like I was putting in a lot of work, to just make back my $ or maybe twice my $.

But, when you do final table one of those big tournaments or run real deep, it's definitely worth the time and money.
