Phishing is where someone sends you an email asking for your information with a link to enter your information in. Problem is, the site that's linked isn't the site where you log in.

I recently received an email telling me to verify my Neteller information by clicking on a link. The link even had the neteller.com text but when I clicked on it the link took me to a web site called neteller-support.com. This web site is NOT run by Neteller. Do NOT enter your Neteller information in here.

I also did a search and found this text from the real neteller.com site:

Phishing alert: keep your secure eWallet safe

Some of you have reported receiving an email saying you need to confirm your account details or it will be closed. This email is pretty sophisticated, looks legit and has a link that goes to a site that looks like ours.

There’s only 1 problem—it didn’t come from us.

Protect yourself from email scams
If you received a copy of that email, you’ve been the victim of what’s called “phishing”. Do not click the link in the email and do not respond to it.

For more information about phishing you can check out our phishing information page or email phishing@neteller.com.

What difference does it make? All our accounts in the USA were closed anyway.

I have received that e-mail 3 times in the last week. I deleted it immediately. Hell, it's to the point these days that I pretty much delete ANYTHING that could possibly be spam. BofA, Ebay and PayPal e-mails get deleted every time too, despite the fact that I have accounts with all three. I suppose one of these days I'll end up deleting a legit e-mail, but I figure if it's something important they will just call me.

I got a few of those several days ago. They were deleted instantly.

Just a reminder regarding this stuff. Never click on a link in an email. Just type in the web page or use your bookmarks. That way you will always get the proper page.
