Neb fan and game still haunts me today......That canes team weakest National Champs in a long time as they had two losses and a few other close gamea against an extremely weak sched. For NU in Orange Bowl in the 70s and 80s until dominated late 80s, same story. 20-25 minutes to get going. Halftime breaks mo and gives smaller quicker team time to regroup. Huskers lose 3rd qtr and then absolutely dominate 4th. This is main reason Bowl games are just exhibition and prove little imho. Just watch FCS playoffs this year where teams play with no break and home field means something.

Bring any Husker opponent in bowl games to lincoln in late Nov early Dec and we know the outcome. But we'll never see it in our lifetime.

I know....I'm a bitter old man

Watched it. For my memory, the 2 games they reviewed that stand out were the demolition of Notre Dame in Jerry Faust's last game and the Fiesta Bowl against Penn State.

I made a large wager on the Hurricanes in that game against Notre Dame (about 2 dimes). The piece had the Miami players wondering why they were getting criticized for running up the score when other schools that crushed opponents didn't get the same criticism. They have to be kidding. Those other teams weren't throwing multiple 50 yard bombs in the 4th quarter with a 40 point lead. That game probably represented the most disgusting sportsmanship I've ever seen, particularly from Jimmy Johnson.

I played Miami (not large) in that Fiesta Bowl against Penn State. I remember Testaverde throwing pick after pick.

Edit: Bernie Kosar looked and sounded like a broken down wino.

I've watched the majority of the "documentary." It's not a documentary but just a love letter to the U. It's about as one sided as a Michael Moore doc.

I thought it was funny when a few members of the '86 team were acting as if they were the victims of a media and police conspiracy in those days. Then Michael Irvin blows contradicts his own teammates by saying there was no conspiracy, they were just "bad boys."

Drew Rosenhaus confirms his status as an ignorant scumbag. He said the NCAA should not have cracked down on the Canes celebratory antics. The NCAA does go overboard at times, but this is one case in which they were right. If they had not cracked down, I guarantee you someone would have ended up getting killed on the field eventually.

And Randal Hill comes across as dumbest of all. Nice NFL career you had, Thrill.

That's been my favorite of the bunch so far (all have been good, though). The history of that league fascinates me.

The one about the Wayne Gretzky trade was also a really good one. Living in Texas it was hard to comprehend just how connected the city of Edmonton felt to a player.
