arguing this now with a friend

i say deion sanders, he says bo jackson.

is anyone else even worth a mention with those 2 guys?

yeah bo was bigger and stronger but deion was more acrobatic plus i weigh speed heavily. being a reds and falcons fan obviously i saw deion a lot more plus bo had the injuries end things early

Jordan....but Woods gets consideration also. 18 holes in the morning then 9 more in the afternoon certainly gets my vote!!!

As in best athlete I'm sure he means overall, not just in one sport.

Cant argue much with Deion or Bo, but the problem is there are other guys that could have or could do the same as those guys playing both sports, but haven't ever tried to cross over.

Also, those 2 played football & baseball, I'm sure there are MANY NBA Players who could play NFL or MLB, which I would consider more of a complete athlete.

In the majority of cases if you can play basketball you're pretty good at everything else.

But as for you & your friends debate, sorry Chris, I'd have to side with him and say Bo, because I've seen him play in a couple of basketball outings for charity & sports competition, and he is as fluid as they come and could dunk nasty....

Id vote Bo, but Id put Dave Winfield as a consideration. I heard he would have been the #1 pick in the MLB, NBA and NFL drafts. Obviously, he never branched away from MLB, but his size would boad well in the other pro sports. Monster of an athlete

Once again I'm pretty sure Chris above means best ATHLETE all-around, not the best athlete in one or any specific sport they've succeeded in.

Big difference.

Tiger Woods is probably the best in his sport compared to any others in their sports, but he's not really an "athlete".....

Didn't they say John Elway could have played any of the 3 major sports as well?

I was also going to say Dave Winfield. I will add one and I know I may be alone on this but Eric Davis. I know he was great at baseball when healthy. I heard he was a great guard in basketball as well.

Not sure how great he is, but what about the current QB at Nevada, Colin Kaepernick. I hear he is also a great baseball pitcher, and yes I know he is NO where close to being mentioned in the same post as the other guys named in this thread, but who knows in 10 years.

But seriously - tough argument, lotta guys now who could have crossed over... Lebron would be a nasty TE, antonio gates is a nasty basketball player. Not saying either of these guys would get my vote, I think I'd go /w Bo.
