Thanks to the generosity of Betphoenix, we will be holding the "Bowling for Dollars" contest this year, with the "Price is Right" theme....

Who is eligible?

Anyone with a Betphoenix account, and has deposited at least 100.00 into their account since July 1st, 2009.....(This is a way for Betphoenix to reward their playing customers)

** If you have never opened an account, or have not deposited since July 1st, you can still do it....you will have until Sunday afternoon to make a deposit, to be eligible(any money deposited is YOURS TO PLAY, the contest is free, just requires that you have deposited at some point to play)....If you dont have an account there yet, click through any link in this thread, and you will be eligible to play after your deposit is confirmed...

How to Enter?

You must either PM me (by clicking on my name and sending a private message, or email me at bucsfan67@therx.com, with your posting handle, your betphoenix account number and the date of your last deposit that qualifies (i dont need to know the amount, just need a date, for when i have to confirm with betphx that you are eligible)

I will simply send them a list with your acct number and a date, and confirm that you have made a deposit to be eligible since July 1st...if u cant get the exact date, approximate.....it will be good enough for them to look and verify....i just want to make it as easy on them as possible....

Once you have been verified to play, your name will appear on the eligible to play list...

***You will have until 7 pm, est on Sunday, December 27th to get your deposit in, and your info sent....after that, no one else can join...we need to get everyone verified before it starts on Monday night...so dont wait til last minute....NO EXCEPTIONS...

How do you play?

The theme for the contest this year will be "Price is Right"

Based on the game from the TV show (where contestants are given dollars and have to guess the price of the car, and lose a dollar for every number they are off)

Each contestant will start with 150.00....you will have to "bid" your total score for each bowl game starting with the Independence Bowl next monday, December 28th.....If u bid 50 for the game, and the total score is 41, then u lose 9.00 of your bankroll....u can play it risky by going high or low, or you can try and play it safe going down the middle, but the last 5 players who have the most money, will be able to 'buy" their prize...

It is very possible that all the players or most, will go bust before the last game, in that case, the final 5 alive, will "buy" their prize.....we will go in accordance with the number of the bowl when we pick, do determine in what order we play....so in case 2 games start at same time on NY day, and one game finishes earlier to knock someone out, we will still go by the order of the picks, not the order of actual time....games will be listed #1-?....and that is the way we will grade it....

Should (2) or more players in the final 5 go out on the same game, the one going "least negative" will be the one to claim that prize......

Where do i post my plays?

There will be a contest forum set up, entitled "Bowling for Dollars" with Betphoenix $1500.00 contest

There will be a seperate thread for each game, and u will simply need to put your total score you are bidding for each game....ALL PICKS MUST BE IN before the 1st game kicks off on Monday night.....this will prevent people from trying to underbid/overbid their competition

Should u not make a play for a given game before the deadline, you will be given an automatic (-25.00) for that game

PRIZES !!!

1ST PLACE......500.00

2ND PLACE......400.00

3RD PLACE.....300.00

4TH PLACE....200.00

5TH PLACE.....100.00

** all prizes are Bonus Plays with 6x rollover

*** I will include a link to the contest forum in this thread, as soon as its up....As soon as you are verified, you can make your picks...the threads will be up before Christmas, since i know some of you will be away this weekend.....

Once you have sent your info, please post that you are "In" in this thread....it helps keep it at the top for others to see as well....

and PLEASE, do not email me your info, if you have NOT DEPOSITED SINCE JULY 1ST.....saying you "will be sending" does no good.....

what dont u understand BD?

you want to get as close to the total of each game as you can....however much you miss it by, you lose that many dollars....in other words, you start with 150 and u lose (1) dollar for each point you miss the total by...you want to keep as much money as possible.....so the closer you are, the more money you keep....

or think of it as points, doesnt really matter...u start with 150 points, and u lose a point for every point u miss the total by...

If u guess 50 for the game and its 41, then you now have 141 points left..

in the next game, you guess 60 and they score 35, you lose another 25, you now have 116 left....you want to get as close as you can, to keep your points....

ok i was thinking somehow you could gain points but the best you can do is stay put.

this is going to be fun with some high scoring games in NCAAF

yeah, basically you want to have points left at the end, cuz most players wont.....if we make it through all remainging bowls with points left, then the most points win...but that wont happen...so you want to keep as many points for as long as you can..once a player gets to -0- they are out of the contest..
