yes, i think it was like colon cancer, down in that area...nothing pretty for sure, for such a beautiful lady..

If you ever want to see real emotion, grit, watch the special they did on her last 5 years, that she documented...about as real and raw as it gets...she didnt glamorize anything, and gave a true account of what its like...one of the best documentaries i have ever seen

i just googled the condition.....it's a very real disease, although you don't hear much about it, i'm sure largely because a lot of people who suffer from the disease may not want to share the information outside their immediate family.....

kudos to her for having the courage to be open about it, i'm not sure i could....i'd rather tell people i have brain cancer or something.....

Risk factors

  • Human papillomavirus examination of squamous cell carcinoma tumor tissues from patients in Denmark and Sweden showed a high proportion of anal cancers to be positive for the types of HPV that are also associated with high risk of cervical cancer (90% of the tumors from women, 100% of the tumors from homosexual men, and 58% of tumors from heterosexual men).[3] In another study done, high-risk types of HPV, notably HPV-16, were detected in 84 percent of anal cancer specimens examined.[4]
  • Sexual activity: Having multiple sex partners or having anal sex, due to the increased risk of exposure to the HPV virus.[5] Homosexual and bisexual men are 17 times more likely to develop anal cancer than heterosexual men.[6]
  • Smoking: Current smokers are several times more likely to develop anal cancer compared with nonsmokers.[5]
  • Immunosuppression, which is often associated with HIV infection.[5]
  • Benign anal lesions (inflammatory bowel disease (IBD),[7] hemorrhoids, fistulae or cicatrices). Inflammation resulting from benign anal lesions, such as hemorrhoids and anal fistulas, has been considered to cause a predisposition to anal cancer.[8][9]

Why do they always list "Smokers" as an at risk group for everything? Cheap cop-out like when you go to the doctors for a cold or some shit and they tell you to quit smoking and lose some weight.

why do certain people lobby for taxes on soft drinks and alcohol and cigarettes because of health factors, yet lobby for gay marriage without imposing a sin tax, which is by far the #1 leading cause of aides and, at least in san franciso, the leading cause of syphilis?

Watch out soonerdawg... Barman is lurking to RR any thread that isn't on board with the pillow-biters and their quest for same-sex marriage.

They smoke pole too. Can we tax that since its a lifestyle choice much like cigarettes?

of course not.....discrimination.....but nobody's got the guts to call it out

personally, i'd be in favor of gay marriage if they were assigned a higher tax bracket and stricter regulation because they live a high risk lifestyle

but who's gonna run with that? much easier to raise the taxes on my pack of smokes every year and force me to smoke in the rain a 100 feet from civilization

Insurance premiums would skyrocket if gays were allowed to get married. Could you imagine your life insurance premium being 30% higher to cover some gay dude collecting as a spouse from some other dead gay dudes policy. You would also have to factor that because of the high risk sex life expectancy of a homosexual would be at around age 55. Not many payments going into that policy huh.

To be fair a gay marriage is probably the only one that makes sense for a man. Why marry some chick just to get divorced and pay alimony and child support while you end up renting a room from some old lady on craiglist.

If you marry another dude or if two chicks get married. You both have careers/jobs going into the marriage so no alimony. You can't get busted for domestic abuse cause dude hits dude is just simple misdemeanor battery. You never have to worry about child support if you get a divorce because you can't get each other pregnant and unless you want to adopt a little black boy from the ghetto adoption is out of the question.

Come to think of it if I was gay I would fight like hell to get married too. It is a way better all around package for a homosexual than a heterosexual.

Come to California pal. Smokers are treated like lepers. You can't smoke in parks, pretty soon shopping centers (those rushing to get out of the movie theater just as the credits roll to spark a cigarette days are almost over). I also hate it that when I go to a baseball game I have to walk all the way to the dumpsters in the tunnel to smoke a cigarette. They don't even have television monitors or speakers there to keep you up to date with the game you paid good money and parking to watch.

Why do you suppose they always list "smokers" as an at-risk group? Do you think they just throw that in without it being true or do you think that smoking causes a higher risk for so many things?

I want to stop smoking cause I am concerned about getting lung cancer not my asshole falling apart. I have never in my life inhaled through my mouth and exhaled out of my ass.
