Guys,

My g/f doesn't get benefits with her job. Can anyone recommend a way to shop group rates (not affiliated with emloyers) ? Is there a database? Or perhaps someone just has a personal experience or suggestion?

There are different versions of BCBS, however. I am covered by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia even though there is a BCBS of Oklahoma.

purchase a catastrophic plan, that is one with a very high deductible (5k or more)

it will keep your (her) premiums low, you'll have to pay for the day to day stuff, but she's covered should there be a major illness

being a female, it's going to cost more for that chick shit / maternity

when I get back into the office, I'll provide you with an independent agent that only sells health insurance, and she has lots of sources.

Depending on her income, there might be a state program for you to consider as well.

don't know if she's licensed for CA, but she might be able to make a referral

Just hold on a bit longer. It will all be free soon enough.

Only if you're willing to make an annual appearance in front of The Death Panels.

Sincerely,

Sarah TQ

Thanks guys... how about dental. Liberty dental plan seems very good. one annual payment of $275 allows crowns for $165 and she feels like she needs to replace 4 crowns due to the last dentist doing a poor job.

higher annual payment options seem like the way to go on dental if someone needs more than 1 crown
