Garrett Pendergrast is our starting right tackle. Or was. He F'd up his ankle in practice and is out for the bowl. That is the guy that Jerry Hughes was to be lined up against. Now one of the best defensive lineman in the country will be going against an inexperienced tackle.

Starting right tackle Garrett Pendergast suffered a broken ankle in practice. The top candidates to replace him are freshmen Michael Ames (the season-opening starter at right tackle) and Brenel Myers (the backup right guard).

Myers was unavailable for many games this year because of two hand injuries. He played in the season finale against New Mexico State. He was making a push for playing time before he got hurt and has built on that momentum in recent weeks, Huff said.

The Broncos have considered Myers a potential tackle for a while, Huff said.

“It’s obviously not an ideal situation,” he said. “It’s never ideal losing a guy, then it’s never ideal losing a guy for the last game of the season, and then it’s never ideal losing the guy who’s got to play against one of the best D-ends in the country. But we’ve got some guys who have been training for it. … We’re not going to feel sorry about it. We’re going to compete. It’s football. This stuff happens.”

True but I think it further limits Boise's offense. With a senior in there, you can run plays that way. With a freshman or a guy who hasn't played, I don't think you can run at Hughes. The under is looking better each day for me since I don't think TCU's is capable of scoring much against us.

how about Pettis jakey ??? is he good to go?

"Austin's going to be right down to the wire," Petersen said. "I think he's making really good progress."

Petersen said Pettis' mindset is in the right mode, which could prove to be benificial.

"If you watch him, you feel good," he said. "I think in his mind, he's going, he's playing, there's no worries, but that's Austin."

So they lose by 16 instead of 14.........not that big of news.

Right offensive tackle is the most expendible position on the entire field.

Thanks for the update Jake, this is still news that I like hearing about, unlike some.
