LeBron James celebrated his 25th birthday with 48 points to lead his Cleveland Cavaliers to a 106-101 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday. Anderson Varejao made the first three-pointer of his career with just 17.2 seconds left — a birthday swish, as he called it — to tip the game in the home side's favor, and, of course, Cleveland timekeepers also sent their love in the form of shot clock poetry.

But the proverbial icing on the proverbial cake? Shaq's gift.

After the win, Cavs teammate Shaquille O'Neal said during the post-game show that he bought LeBron a White Rolls Royce Phantom for his birthday. I know next to nothing about luxury cars, but a new Phantom has a manufacturer's suggested retail price near $400,000, according to Yahoo! Autos.

And here I thought the PS3 I got for Christmas was an awesome gift.

Just doesn't make any sense....that money could do wonders in any inner city community...

Agree with you Vejo, nice gesture by Shaq but does Lebron James really need another $400,000 car? It's a very kind of him, but $400,000, for what? A car he might drive a couple times a year?

Shaq is real cool like that. My buddy got a basketball operations job right out of college with the Heat. At that time Shaq was still the team and Shaq took my boy under his wing. Shaq gave him some old jewelery of his. He gave him a 60k diamond watch and one of his old Superman "S" diamond chains. Shaq also gave him some start up cash of like 25k.

They are still friends today and Shaq will take him on vacations from time to time. I know he went up to Pittsburgh with Shaq for the Steelers/Chargers game and sat in the box.

I have heard a lot of good things about Shaq.

it aint like these guys dont give there time and money to charitys. when you make 40 million , what's 400 grand amongst friends...

Yes he does -every year, he takes hundreds of kids shopping for Xmas.

Nothing negative should be said about Shaq and charity. Like him or hate him, the guy gives back.

Shaq bought myself and everyone else at the Shore Club their drinks and food for the night about 5 years ago - nothing bad to say about the guy. Very nice guy.

lebron had a lot to do with getting shaq in cleveland. shaq might not have retired, but he sure as shit wouldnt be making the 20million at another team like he is making in cleveland this year. perhaps this played a roll in him buying the rolls. ha
