I doubt it was anything hostile that went down. They were probably joking around and Arenas just had a gun there he picked up to get Jarvis off his back.

Arenas lives near my family and I have a family friend that babysits for him and is over his house 3-4 days a week. He is far from a thug. IMO, ESPN is twisting the story of how it went down. I doubt it was a hostile confrontation.

Do not believe all things you read on people. There were reports on blogs about Shaq having an affair with Arenas's wife. Those are completely false and now you have people going around speaking to them as they are fact.

Speaking of NBA players and gambling debts:

LAS VEGAS — Former NBA all-star Antoine Walker is promising to pay more than $900,000 to settle bad check charges with three Las Vegas casinos and avoid felony criminal charges.

Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Melanie Andress-Tobiasson approved a deal Monday letting Walker pay almost $13,000 a month over five years.

Restitution and penalties would total $905,050, including $135,000 cash bail already posted following Walker's arrest in July at a Lake Tahoe hotel.

That would settle casino debts incurred between July 2008 and January 2009 at Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood and the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas.

Walker wasn't in court. His lawyer, Jonathan Powell, says the 6-foot-9 Walker hopes sign with a team in the U.S. or Europe this season.

Not defending what happend here, but I don't understand the problem is with people and their fear of guns. Just 50 years ago it wasn't rare for a kid to bring his shotgun to school because he was going hunting after school.

There is nothing wrong with an NBA player safely storing their firearms their locker, nor is there a problem legally and safely carrying a weapon to protect yourself.

The issue is the both of them being idiots about the whole thing!

If the gun was unloaded, which it appears that it was, this goes down as the biggest NON STORY of 2009.

Gambling debt hmm, this reminds me of the video between him and deshawn stevenson and the 10k wager between them on a 3 point shooting contest. Deshawn shot normally while Gilbert shot with one hand, Arenas still won and you can be sure he wanted the wager paid.

Really? Have you ever had a piece pulled on you? How do you know it's unloaded, until the trigger is pulled. I would bar this clown for life!

Not sure how this is blown out of proportion...I would think a gun in a lockeroom, loaded or unloaded is a major problem.
