However, an Iowa victory would give the Big Ten a sweep in the BCS bowls, and that in itself would make for a terriffic bowl season for the conference without even taking into consideration the other fine performances put in thus far by the rugged Big Ten.

Ignore my comment, you said BCS bowl. My bad.

They would go 2-0 in BCS bowls, something the Big Ten has done three times already in the short history of the BCS.........

DAMN TOUGH FOOTBALL CONFERENCE is the BIG TEN.

Bowl games are not a clear indication of who is the better conference...too many variables....

Give me a regular season game or a real BCS Playoff system to give me a clearer perspective...

The Big 10 will never measure up with the SEC, and it as simple as that.

Never say never.

Hell, the SEC is 3-4 in bowl games this year.

Right now the SEC has the coaches in place, similar to the Big 10 in hoops.

Economic slow down in the south and boom, it can all change. What has happened now is the economic demise of states like Michigan, Ohio and others has caused a tremendous population shift south.

I don't know. The advantage maybe that the other conferences have been strong in one sport, but not in both.

In the last 40 years, the Big 10 has won 2.5 MNC championships.

In hoops, the Big 10 has won 6 NC.

well going by MNC i hate to say it but they pac-10 would be up there simply with USC football and UCLA hoops

on the other hand, in the past 15 yrs alone the SEC has like 4 in hoops and 6 in football which squashes the others over 40 yrs.

but from top to bottom id say big-10 is best of all in the combo of the 2 year in year out at least in my lfietime
