Anyone ever haunted in their dreams by guilt?

Lately, I've been dreaming about things I feel guilty about. Perhaps it's been all the "holiday drinking" I've been doing or the fact that I have been getting more than 3 hours sleep a night, so I am actually dreaming.

I've been dreaming of situations where I may not have helped a friend out, ex-girlfriends who were nice and sweet that I fucked over one way or another, etc. Ironically, rarely do I dream about my family who I, at times, have been a shithead to.

Maybe it's time to restart therapy...

YES, sad to say. But also, it is sad what some did to me.

No guilt dreams for me. I did have one a few days ago about The Black Eyed Peas and myself robbing an arts and craft store. Someone figure out what the hell that means...

Our dreams are manifestations of things we have not resolved in our minds. In this particular circumstance, if we are guilty about things we have done our subconscious mind (dreams) try to resolve that guilt. That's what dreams do, try to resolve unfinished things.

Our conscious minds (waking) can help to resolve these issues. Sometimes it takes mending that which is causing the guilt. Asking for forgiveness or perhaps an apology about the behavior that is causing the guilt.

Othertimes it is guilt toward one's own behavior such as becoming disappointed in not reaching goals or perhaps behavior that is deconstructive such as gambling too much or drinking too much.

Whatever it may be, seek to resolve the issues that are putting your subconscious mind at odds with itself.

I sometimes have dreams of guilt, regret, missed opportunities (those girls I should have slept with but for some dumb reason didn't). I sometime relive mistakes I made in life or issues in my current state of life that I need to resolve.

The other night I dreamed about a faux scenario playing out at work and how I handled it. I woke up in the middle of that dream talking to myself midsentence from my actual dream. It seemed so real.

What I try to do in life is work through all of my living issues that I can control at that moment and if it is out of my control I accept that fate and try not to think about it. It is much easier to live a peaceful life if you meet your problems head on. If you argue with a girlfriend either accept your blame to yourself and assure yourself you are right. If you have beef with a coworker or boss deal with it right away and don't let the shit just play itself out.

Guilt is of course an irrational thought process. Numerous authors have expounded on ways to replace and/or counter this type of thinking that is programmed into our brains by societal influences.

Wayne Dyer is one that has helped me a lot, notably his Your Erroneous Zones and also Gifts From Eykis

Relearning this topic won't neccesarily alter your dream sequences, but it certainly can help after you wake if you find yourself fixating on the imaginary scenarios which seem to have taken place while in your dream state

"Guilt is of course an irrational thought process."

Please elaborate.
