BREAKING NEWS
Redskins fire Zorn

Team finishes 4-12, worst record in 15 years

Move comes after the team returned from San Diego, where it lost the season finale.
Zorn, 56, was 12-20 in two seasons.
The painful, nearly season-long death watch of Jim Zorn's coaching career in Washington mercifully ends for a decent man who was set up to fail.

The team will hold a news conference at 12:30 p.m., when Allen will discuss the decision. The Redskins could be preparing to name Zorn's replacement soon. In December, Washington forced out longtime front office executive Vinny Cerrato and announced the hiring of Allen within two hours, putting in motion the overhaul of the franchise's infrastructure after a 10-year period that featured just two playoff appearances.

Former Denver coach Mike Shanahan, who won two Super Bowls with Hall of Fame quarterback John Elway and the Broncos, has been Zorn's presumed replacement for weeks. Several NFL sources have said over the past month that they believe Shanahan has long been the choice of Redskins owner Daniel M. Snyder.

It would be good to see Shanny as a head coach again. Until he replaces his QB with another upcoming QB in the middle of a division race and the timing of the team falls apart.

Only one play ever needs to be shown on tape if you need a reason for Zorn being fired and it was the fake FG attempt against the Giants a few weeks ago.

That was the most horrendous play I have ever seen in my life.

Why would Shanahan take this job? Until that idiot owner steps aside they will struggle. The new GM needs to cut Snyder's dick off and tell him to step off.

I don't think Campbell is as bad as the fans think he is. However, they need an OL more than any team besides Detroit.

They also need to start drafting better and building depth. They have too many big contract free agents who aren't worth a shit (namely Haynesworth). They should look at New England and Indy and model their future after those two franchises.....

Good luck, Shananan. I hope you have big nuts and can tell Snyder to fuck off when he needs it....
