OT: Sony Blu Ray Player

I have a BDP-S350 Sony Blu Ray Player

I got it for Christmas in 2008. I have rarely used it...Already, it's having problems reading disks. We are watching Lost Season 5 for first time,and only works 1 out of 10 times.

DOES ANYONE HAVE A RECEIPT FOR THIS BLU RAY PLAYER THAT IS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD?

I talked to Sony and they will repair it FREE, only if I can prove when I bought it within 12months. I am sure just a scan of your receipt would work, plus I am sure, that if something does happen to yours, youll still be able to use it.

I would really apperciate if you were able to help me with this!

dang man, that sux. Wish i could help ya. Any chance you are doing something wrong? Maybe a bad disc? Just throwing that out there, but im sure you have checked all avenues.

You have any type of electronics shop locally that maybe could fix it for less than $50 perhaps?

Just did a little searching and found this....l

"The most likely cause of your frustration with the BDP-S350 is thatyour player's firmware is not the most current. I have the same model,and had similar problems with newer Blue Ray Discs.

The solution is to go to sony's website, download the firmware upgrade, burn it to a disc and then load the disc into the player to fix it.

I believe I had the same model, bought it in 08 for $400. Sold it this past summer for $150. I used it maybe 5 times max. I got sick of the load time and the time it took to eject disks was rediculous! It would literally take 5 minutes to power up and open the disk tray, then load time. HUGE POS!

I believe you can hook up an Internet connection to it and select the "Upgrade software" option from the menu and it will go out and find your upgrade and install it for you.

i have done all that. Its truly a POS...

That's why I cannot justify spending $150 on fixing it...

but at the same time, I can't image spendng $200 on another after using this one just 20 times

Buy another one yourself, scan the receipt, and then return it and get your money back.

i can't find a store that carries it. They carry the S360 now. Not an option. Anyone have a receipt

I tried that... I guess its an item that they are just trying to get rid of, because they don't ship, its only in store pick up. and Mine doesn't have any...
