The Bears would like to thank you for sticking with them this year

By <ADDRESS class="vcard author">Kyle Koster</ADDRESS>on <ABBR class=published title=2010-01-04T14:58:12-06:00>January 4, 2010 2:58 PM | Permalink | Comments (1) | TrackBacks (0)

A day after completing a lackluster 7-9 season with a win over woeful Detroit, the Chicago Bears apologized to fans with ads in both our paper and the Tribune.

OK, maybe technically it's a thank-you note, but it kind of reads like an apology. And I know lots of you out there would prefer if it were an apology note.

"In a season where we did not perform at our best, we are further humbled by the fact that our fans stepped up and did their part," the ad said in part. "You played your role in the team perfectly.

Aww, that's nice. That ought to wash the putrid taste of a third straight playoff-less season right out of the collective mouth of Bear backers.

Wait till next year and see their sorry ass ad. With Jay I suck Cutler, next year will be like this year. All of chicago thought they were going to the super bowl when they got cutler, wrong. I had a bears fan bet me this year, that the bears would beat the packers twice and also win their division, that was one bet that was very easy to make. The bears still suck and you can take that to the bank.:)<<:)<<:)<<:)<<:)<<:)<<:)<<

They forgot the part, "We are very cheap bastards and don't feel like buying out lovie's contract. So, enjoy another miserable season next year with your pals."

That's probably true. All i ever read is how no one reads or buys the paper.

I guess i'm still the exception, i gotta have my daily paper.

Oh and about the ad. The Bears do suck, but they still ain't as bad as alot of other teams. They just happen to play in a big media market area and the light is shined on them all the time.
