I only bet a couple times a year, and I plan on putting some action on the NFL Futures. I want to use Matchbook

I have never used an exchange before.

Can you give me some help on how to use it. It is clearly much different than a regular book.

its an exchange, you can either make an offer and see if it gets accepted or you can accept an offer that someone else made already. what do you need help on?

with futures i believe you can wager on whether a team will win or not win the super bowl also

the best way to learn i found is make small offers, like 3 dollars or something like that and see how you offers appear to others, than you can understand how it works, make small offers and play around with the software for a bit until you understand it better

Ok for instance.

NFL Future Superbowl

Minnesota to win+800 $393

Minnesota to loss -820 $28,971

What does the money mean?

it means you can get minny to win sb at +800 odds. The $323 is the amount available to wager. Or you can bet minny won't win the superbowl but you have to lay 820 to win 100. There is much more available to wager that they won't win than they will. That could change though if someone makes an offer

ohhh so they MOST I could WIN off the Minnesota to win is $323... Say I want to risk $100 on Minny, That means I would take that $323? And have to wait for the rest of the money later?..sorry if these are dumb questions, I am just very new to exchanges

The number next to the odds is the liquity available or how much you can wager. Now say you want to take Minny but you want to get +810 to win sb not +800. You can make an offer risking whatever, say $100 to win $810. Your offer will show up under will Minny not win superbowl -810. If some accepts your offer you have a bet

Yes the most you could win is $323 so you would have to risk $40 to win $323. Someone has an made an offer -800 that Minny won't win.

If you want a larger amt, say you want to put up 500 to win 4000 at +800 you could make an offer for it, and it will show up under Minny will not win -800 and you offer will beat the current market of -820. If someone accpets your offer you have a bet. The markets change frequently though, someone could offer +750 and then your offer of +800 won't be the best one and might not get matched

yes no parlays there, straight wagers only but the vig is much lower than other places. Also remember there is a 1% commision that you have to pay that lowers your odds a bit but still beats most -110 shops

Patswin, I really apperciate your help. I understand much more already..

I am a little surprised its not partially matched. So If by your example, if I put up $500 to win $4000. If I only get $2000 worth of action ont he other side, it will NOT go through??

It would go through but if someone only took $2000 you would have a bet risking 250 to win 2000 at 8 to1. But also you offer does not have to be matched all at once, someone could take part of it and leave the rest up so just because it isn't all matched doesn't mean it won't be, you just might have to wait a bit until some accepts the offer. The odds change frequently and someone might come in with a lower offer and then you probably would not get your offer matched completely unless the odds went in your favor

right now the greek has minny +585 to win superbowl, you can get 800 right now at matchbook. Max you can win is 323 but you can make an offer for more and you would have the best offer at -800 that minny will not win
