I'm stuck as the leading bidder on a small-ticket item at eBay. I put in a bid on a product, and didn't want to wait 5 more days for the bidding to end, so I just did a "buy it now" on the same product from another seller for a little more money.

Now, it looks like I'm going to win the bid on the same product - something I thought would never happen.

What happens if you just blow off winning the bid at eBay? Do they ban your account? I don't need 2 of the damn products.

It has 4 days to go, but no one has outbid me in several days.

Meanwhile, the same product from a "buy it now" has already been shipped to me.

Live and learn. When I bid on the original item, someone was automatically bidding higher than me over and over. Then unfortunately on my last bid, he stopped.

Lesson learned. I'll try a bid retraction. thx

Don't be a prick and blow it off, suck it up. Lesson learned and move on.

So its my fault you put in a bid on the same item with two different people because you didn't want to wait a few days. Then you trying to think of a way to blow off somebody.

You need to learn something about personal responsibility.

High volume sellers always have bi-bidders so they can list an item at a low price and get away with lower listing fees.

Not sure if you sold before, but you could just sell it to someone else. A lot of people just buy and immediately sell ebay items without ever physically seeing the product themselves.

Unfortunately, as you probablry know, some of these are rigged. Definitely unethical and most likely illegal, but very hard to prove as these sellers have "friends" bidding from all over the place.
