I have a restaurant here in Costa Rica. The only thing I personally make is the chili. I know everyone says this about thier chili but I personally think mine is the best around. I will have to give it some thought on giving out my recipe.
BTW....anyone who has come to my restaurant can vouch for the taste......
My "Big Fart" chili is very popular, I make it similar to the recipe up there but without macaroni, and with other types of beans like pintos and those white beans, I forget how to spell it but it's something like cannelini. I also put beer in it.
Chili is a very personalized thing, impossible to give one recipe that is the "best" though there are lots of good ones online.
The most important thing when making whatever recipe you decide upon is to do the little things that take a little bit of extra work but really take your chili to the next level.
Things like buying whole cumin seeds, toasting them lightly in a dry pan and then grinding them fresh just before using. Buy whole dried chilis of various styles and do the same if fresh aren't available in your area. If they are, slow-roast them and puree them. No granulated garlic, use fresh and brown it properly to develop the flavour.
Little things like this separate the reaaaalllly good chili from the rest.
who has the best chili? I see certain pizza and wings places will deliver to any address in the US. What good places will do the same for chili?
