We'll never know until theres a playoff. Personally I think Boise could have beaten any team in the country this year.
Of course Boise is capable of beating these teams but they would be a heavy underdog. I think its pretty much fact they would be considerable underdogs to the top 4-5 teams.
Lets face it they beat a TCU team which struggled under the big lights. Wasn't exactly a breathtaking performance.
They were underdogs to OKLAHOMA and TCU also..........and defeated BOTH!
Saying a team would be an underdog in a game via the pointspread HAS ONLY A SMALL MEANING on who the better team is............the pointspread is used for betting purposes first and foremost.
Bama as Well ??
Don't think they would have beaten them or Florida..IMO
So what? Doesn't mean they are a better team, only they were the better team on that day.
Clippers beat the Lakers the other night, so are the Clippers better than the Lakers? Of course not.
And yes the pointspread set by oddsmakers isn't the most accurate reflection of the chances of a team but its close. To say it has a small meaning is ridiculous. We'd all be rolling in money if they were so off on a regular basis.
imo Boise would be serious underdogs to the likes of Florida, Alabama, Florida and Ohio State. Now if you want a playoff format to see if Boise can beat the odds that's fine. But to actually believe Boise is on the same level as those teams is insane.
What have you seen in the last 4 years to say this program isnt as good as the programs from bigger conferences? The fact that no one wants Boise coming to their place to play a game should tell you enough.
Another useless thread involving lack of respect, what a team is ranked at the end of the year, or which is the better conference. Thats what this sport is always reduced to during their Postseason months. Does CBB talk about this nonsense in March, or Does the NFL bring up which Conference or Division is better in January or who is better after playoffs are done, or Baseball on which team is better after October baseball is completed, or Is the East better then the West in the NBA during June. Should Orlando be thought of as better then San Antonio in June after they are done playing. Looks like most of you are brainwashed with this system, that you are even be talking about this nonsense.
Really? Was Bama so dominant last night that you can say that?
The BCS did a wonderful job this year, and really did what they were supposed to do. Boise's BCS win was minimized because it was only against TCU. Having the two "Cinderella" teams play each other was the easiest decision because the public would probably just say who ever lost just didnt deserve to be there.
Boise beat the team that many, before kickoff, believed was the best team in the state of Texas. But since TCU lost, no one has said that since. Had Boise and TCU played other opponents, we as fans would have been able to see exactly how good each team was.
At least 98% of this forum and America found out the Pac-10 was not even a top five conference this season..........now run along and go climb your favorite mountain, do some duck hunting, or check up on your beaver traps.
