I met a lot of Iowa fans in Miami. I was not prepared for the overwhleming numbers in the parking lots prior to the game. You would have thought Iowa City was a Miami suburb.
95% - Great supporters of your team. They were cordial to the GT fans around them. It is apparent that these fans take great pride in their team and their reputation. They want to be known for traveling well and being hospitable. Their love for Iowa football was very overwhelming. Win or lose, these fans will wear the Black & Gold (or yellow) every Saturday. These are the type of college football fans you can be proud of.
3% - Antagonistic - get in your face type fans. I only encountered a couple of these and just ignored them.
1% - Pulled for Iowa because they hated GT (Florida State, Miami, & UGAy fans in disguise)
1% - Too drunk to realize what was going on. Only saw one of these, but he was doing his best impression of a spaghetti noodle.
All in all - you should be proud of the way you represented in Miami. That 95% number is obviously not scientific, but it is as large a percentage as I've seen in my 30 years of attending college football games. I'd love to have a rematch next year in Miami or another BCS game. Congrats on your season and good luck in the Big 10 next year.
