Bynum for Bosh rumor

As promised, today’s column is pure basketball, triggered by trade winds.A Lakers source told me the team had its sights set high, as usual, and planned to target the possible acquisition of Chris Bosh when it got closer to the 3 p.m. Feb. 18 trade deadline, and the Raptors might be more likely to move their Olympian/All-Star while still entitled to compensation.
It commonly is believed Bosh almost certain is to flee Toronto after this season, when he has the right to opt out of the final year ($17.1 million) of
his contract.

My source believes the Lakers will offer Andrew Bynum for Bosh (if they haven’t done so already) well before the deadline expires. In itself, the one-for-one swap is impossible to make. Bynum’s “base year” essentially allows L.A. to take back but half of his salary this year ($12.5M). Of course, that restriction is lifted when next year’s salary ($13.7M) activates come July 1, at which time a sign-and-trade transaction would be feasible.

Lakers would be stacked...

If I was the Raptors I would take this. Much better than the McGrady for nothing and Carter for warm bodies deals.

Still obviously a steal for the Lakers providing they sign him up to a long term deal.

Lakers would have to get Bosh to sign a extension or its not worth it for them to make this move.

If they can get that done they should make this deal.

Not sure what the Raptors want to do but I think they should make Bosh an extension offer and if does not accept move him before the trade deadline.

The Raptors system would have to be completely revamped if they did this trade.

Bad trade for the Lakers. Lamar, Pau, and Chris are all PFs, they'd have no true center.

Bosh For Bynum?

Are you kidding me?

A ridiculous steal for LA if it happens to go through.

Not near as much a steal as Kobe Bryant for Vlade Divac but a steal.......lol

me being a laker fan i don't want to see bynum leave. bosh would not fit in that rotation in my opinion. we need a true big. pau is a power forward not a center.

Guys........Bosh is as close to a center as LA needs.

What dominant centers are they left in the NBA to have to contend with anyhow???

They're all basically gone.

Besides Bynum is already showing that's he's going to be one of those players who's going to have health problems throughout his career......

I agree with Hache. Right now Bosh and Bynum are not in the same league.

The only way LA does not do this deal is if Bosh refuses to extend as part of the trade.

A front court with Artest, Bosh, Gasol would be tough to beat.

gasol doesnt have center weight, but he plays like a center, all post game, so i think theyd be fine with him at center.

point fisher
shooting kobe
small artest
power bosh
center gasol

then odom off the bench like normal

Love em or Hate em, you gotta give the Lakers credit.

They're just like the New England Patriots and always being active trying to get better or remain at the top....

If you look at it Bynums numbers are way higher when Gasol is out. Gasol takes a bunch of his rebounds and touches in the post.
