I'm doing a File Transfer, from the Old Computer to the New.

XP to Windows 7

The Transfer will be about 3 GB of Files.....( Doesn't mean it will all go to Hard drive )

Is 3 GB of Files a lot for a Transfer ??

Maybe I should have deleted some of these Programs ??
( I did delete a lot of Photo's )

Any Help ??

I just did the same sort of thing for my wife. I have an 8GB flash drive so it was no problem at all. How are you transferring the files?

Why would it be too much? Too much what?

Do you mean too much time? Are you in a hurry?

Set it up in the morning, leave the room, come back in at night and it will be finished.

No, Just thought 3GB of Files was a Lot....for a Transfer.
Never done it before....and Never knew there was That much in GB's with Files and Programs.

Almost done....about 10 mins left
Took about two hours.

Tip:

Compare the number of files and size in kilobytes of files transferred to the new machine and on the old machine and make sure they are equal (or just about equal). In Windows Explorer, highlight all of them and right click, then click on properties.

Weird stuff can happen when transferring files. I know because I have done it and a lot of files didn't transfer for one reason or another. I had to fix it.
