I don't think he got a vote?

That's what he Got....ONE vote

NEW YORK -- Maybe the award should be renamed Most Valuable Peyton.
Peyton Manning became the first player to win The Associated Press NFL Most Valuable Player honor four times. The Indianapolis Colts' sensational quarterback romped to the award Saturday in balloting by 50 sports writers and broadcasters who cover the league.
He received 39½ votes to 7½ for Drew Brees of New Orleans. Only four players -- all quarterbacks -- earned votes. The other two were Philip Rivers of San Diego (2) andBrett Favre of Minnesota (1).

Manning is the best QB in the league, but Favre's stats this year were better. Manning had twice as many pics. It seems like Favre's pics are the only ones that anyone talks about, so why can he throw twice as many and get the MVP ? Favre also helped his team get a bye. He made names out of Harvin etc. I can live with Manning getting it, but not by that margin.

Have a hard time seperating any of the top five, except perhaps Rivers fifth. Should have been the most wide open MVP vote possible, instead a run-away

I think it's because people see what happens to the Colts when Manning doesn't play. Meanwhile the Vikings were already a very good team before Brett arrived this year.

He's pacing himself. Saving up for Super Bowl MVP. That's if Warner don't knock him out. One of these two grand old masters will be holding the Super Bowl trophy. Rivers to learn a lesson or two in that game.

So Chris Johnson won AP Offensive Player of the Year by a wide margin. Did Manning really do enough on defense and special teams to make up the difference in offensive value?
