Here is a good one: Dennis Quaid

He has been in the biz for 35 years and usually takes top billin or a lead role in his movies. He has outlasted his counterparts from his era like Nick Nolte, Kevin Costner and Richard Gere as far as getting the better movie roles late in his career.

He has been in as many football movies as Costner has been in baseball movies (3) but it doesn't stick to his resume like Costner. Quaid even played in one baseball movie too "The Rookie".

He played real life history characters like Sam Houston, Doc Holliday and Jerry Lee Lewis. Plus he has been lead in a lot of blockbuster films such as Day After Tomorrow, Traffic, GI Joe and Dragonheart.

For some reason he keeps popping up on the big screen with major roles and he comes across almost unnoticed and fogetful.

The British version of him would be Liam Neeson. With both Dennis and Liam you don't go see a movie because they are in it. But it seems like they are always in good movies that aren't flops at the theatre.
