I love how the US government always has time to take out of their busy, gridlocked repressive days to criticise freedom in China.

If I want to bet on the Lakers today at WSEX, pretty sure the Chinese government has no problem with it or me. Guess which government does?

anyway, here is your laugh of the day

I get the point of the post, and it is laughable, but I have a friend that lives in China and he doesnt have access to anything over there. They block Facebook and every other site under the sun so that they can't get online and learn about what really happens in the world and so the Chinese government can brainwash them.

yes fair point.

Im still laughing though. Still. I love it when the US government tries to point the dirty end of the stick at the Chinese and ignore criticism coming from the Chinese government to them which can be on point.

Chinese government wont take any criticism from their citizens and you cannot be involved with using or selling drugs there. Thats it, other than that they dont care what you do. It amuses me when the US government who is heavily in debt and especially to the Chinese thru T-Bills they own tries to lash out at a government that already owns them and has enough money in the bank to buy them again.

meanwhile, the US has severe problems but the government is concerned about whether I can bet on the Lakers. If I had any kids Id cry for their future as it is all I can do is laugh

The role of the state department is to defend American interests. Google petitioned the State Dept. to intervene on their behalf. Secretary Clinton then issued a statement directed at China. It's not about lecturing China but protecting our American business.

Goolge has stopped censoring it's web site in China. They have stopped the release of the Droid. They have threatened to divest their interests in China. We are talking about Billions of dollars lost to an American business. So yes the State dept. got involved and released the statement they did.

I wish gamblers would realize why the government is concerned about illegal gambling. It's not to deny your right to make a stupid bet on the Lakers. Rather it is the fact the millions of dollars are being transferred without regulation. It's not about gambling but about money laundering. Same with online poker sites. Real criminals use these outlets to launder their drug money and money gained through other illegal activities.

But believe what you will.
