Curious... If most people end up living in the enviroment they were raised in....

For instance, if you spent a majority of your Childhood and Teen Life in a Major City, are you in a Major City Still...

Same with if your in a Small City.... And Same if your in the country....

I was raised in small cities, about 70-120k People.... Moved to 7 Cities, (VA Beach, Norfolk, ect.) area for school. I was really excited about the big city life, and I did enjoy it. Yet I found myself moving back to a small city in the end.

I still plan to do some heavy traveling to all areas, but I am rather certain I will end up in the small city. Is this true for most everyone?

I know the cities are becoming bigger every year, so maybe more from small cities are moving to bigger...

Grew up in small town in Iowa, then worked in a couple of small towns before moving to the Phoenix area. Great place to grow up, but we have no plans on moving back.

I would guess that 99% of the people that grow up in a larger cities never leave. On the other side, small towns are slowly dying. It's too bad, too. Small towns are great, but the jobs are scarce.

I was raised in the middle of nowhere in the woods and have lived in Boise for the last 6 or 7 years. Eventually I'll save up enough money to build a house and plan on living in the middle of nowhere and becoming a hillbilly.

Like Jake T, I was raised in the woods. I moved to a small city when I was 12. I lived in Washington DC for a little while in my teen years and then moved back to my small city.

IMHO small cities are the best places to live. There are enough people around where everyone doesn't know everyone and you get all the benefits of a big city without the traffic. Although DC was a great place to live. I also lived in Arlington VA for a few months while up there but that is basically a suburb of DC.

small towns during my childhood and middle of nowhere during my teen years, 98% of that in SW Missouri that is approximately 10 years behind the rest of the world. Traveled around and settled on the latin american rural/suburbia that is aproximately 11 years behind the rest of the world.

Hey hillbilly, a good mod would help add a poll to this thread.

I grew up and have lived in the Chicagoland area my whole life..Not in Chicago but a 20-30 min. drive in. Not sure I could live in a small town...The big city has to much to offer.

My town had like 250 people or something. I plan on building a house in the woods and getting a gun and going into town once a month. I'll shoot at watermelons and yell at forest animals. Perfect for me as long as I have internet, TV, and a woman. And a bar nearby would be nice I guess.

I grew up in a town of 10,000, but within 20 minutes of a town
of 40,000.

I like my current situation, I live in a town of 50,000, in a
sub-division with very large lots (2-4 acres), on a small lake, but can get
to the Austin Met. Area (1 Million +) within 20 minutes.
