Hooked up with some friends last evening. A nice mix of men and woman and every single person (12-14 people) were divorced or separated. All about my age (48). It seem everyone I know has split up, in the process of splitting up, some for a second time or in unhappy marriages and are cheating on each other. My parents have been married for 65 years. Is it just to easy now to say screw it I'm unhappy and move on to the next person.

Interesting question?
Life is a story of give and takes. I have been married for 16 years this june. I have a very hot 39yr old wife. 2 kids that are 12,14. Is life perfect NO. BUT I am 39, have hot wife and someone to talk to about issues and 2 great kids to watch grow up! Would it be nice to not have to deal with some of the wifes bullshit? Sure, but things always look better on the other side! So i will keep the family and enjoy growning old watching my kids grow up into adults and have a parner that knows what i like and someone i can talk to!
Just my thoughts:toast:

You are correct. I would say the people who wait to get married do better, marriage-wise.

Could be. We dont fit into that category though. I was 20. She was 19. Dated on and off in HS.

One of the bigest keys to a happy marriage IMO in selflessness by both partners. If each always cares more about the other person over themselves, things are much more likely to be successful.

With my wife for 21 years. Started dating in 11 grade. Very happy and have 4 kids. The problem with a lot of married couples is they look what they can get out of the marriage and not what they can give. Most couples would treat a roommate better then a spouse.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Working in the wedding business for years, the younger people have a much harder time of making it work. Kudos to you and the other ones who have done it.

I was happily married from 1980-1985...she then gave me the boot...I make a toast to her every Oct. 25th for setting me free...

Seriously, marriage is like work and too easy to get a divorce...lawyers make a killing on it...

My wife and I have been happily married for 25 years. We have two kids who are very different from each other but we love them dearly. When I got married I saw it as a committment to stay together and work things out for life. If you have a fight with your wife, I think you got to allow each other to get all the anger out, talk about it, and then move on. As painful as it is you have to be willing on occasion to compromise or even give in. Over the years, there have been some mighty fine looking women who I've thought about, but my wife is so sweet to me there is no way I am going down that road. I'm happy much more than not so I think it's gonna be till death do us part.

Good one here..

I ask a friend I had not seen in years "you married" "he says yes happily married for 10 years". Another buddy says I thought you said you had been married for 25 years. Man says I have but only 10 of them have been happy..

Been married 15 years to a hot momma of 4 and we are doing fine.. GL
