is brodeur gonna get a rare night off? NJ lost to montreal last night. With back to back games against a weak team this is a perfect time for him to get a night off.

I dont have confirmation as of yet who is starting.

New York Islanders +110 (BetVegasVic) DOUBLE UNIT PLAY

More from the teams going in opposite directions file.

Devils have lost their last three on the Island and resort to starting ex-Islander Yann Danis after playing last night and face the dreaded 3 in 4. But goalkeeping isn’t their main concern. The Devils just can’t give them any support. Only once in their last 8 games have they scored more than 2 goals. They have scored just 7 times in their last 5 and one of those was a empty netter. Their PP stands at 0/23 over that period. Losing Patrik Elias from a already limited attack doesn’t help matters.

The Islanders are rolling. 7-2 in their last nine, beating Western Conference teams, winning on the road, scoring goals, and having fun doing it. The Mausoleum isn’t such a tomb anymore. The fans are back and loud. DP has returned home. Everything is just falling in place and today they sit in playoff position. Who would have thunk it?

So with all this the Islanders are home dogs…..on hockey night…..again!? Some people never learn.

NY ISLANDERS +1.04 over New Jersey (REG)
The Islanders have won six straight at home and six of its last seven. Overall, the Islanders have won 10 of its last 14 games. They’re scoring goals, they’re not allowing much and they play with as much enthusiasm and heart as any team in the league and you can double that when the Devils are in town. Meanwhile, the Devils played last night at home and lost 3-1 to the Canadiens. New Jersey has now lost four of five with only win over that stretch coming against Florida. Furthermore, the Devils have scored 12 lousy goals over its last eight games and four goals over its last four games. If that’s not enough and you need more incentive, the Devils will play its third game in four days, and its fifth game in seven days. This past Monday they were here for a Martin Luther King holiday matinee game and lost 4-0 while being outshot 46-20. This one is unlikely to be much different. Play: NY Islanders +1.04 (Risking 2 units).

This is a big game, Sherwood is also on the Islanders, Sherwood and Vegas Vic to me are the two of the best NHL cappers here. (maybe anywhere).

I dont know if there is confirmation that brodeur wont play, I just speculate he may not.

as of now there is no information on the starters at SportsOptions.

Can Always make that Bet when I'm there.....My buddies have Great Seats ( Like 6 row from the Glass ) and I'll just look to see what he's doing

"Devils will play its third game in four days, and its fifth game in seven days."

Here's a excerpt from the New York Post the day after the Devils were shut out by the Islanders, (4-0 on the Island), last Monday.

Devils coach Jacques Lemaire blamed the beating on fatigue. It can look that way when your team is a step slower.

"We definitely looked tired," Lemaire said after his Jersey Juggernaut lost a third straight game in regulation for the first time this season, yesterday's 4-0 debacle to the Islanders at Nassau Coliseum the worst of the bunch.

"I think they need rest," Lemaire said. "They're tired from the [Phoenix and Denver] trip. They're not used to it and didn't get the proper rest."

Devils haven't had much time to rest since then. They had Tuesday off then had games Wednesday, last night and tonight.

You are definitley on the right side at -105. Enjoy the show.

This will mark Brodeur's 35th start in the Devils last 36 games.
