If the Chargers kept Brees would they have won a Super Bowl by now?

I would have to say yes because when they got rid of Brees they leaned more on LT to carry the offense until they got Rivers comfortable and playoff ready. Now that Rivers is ready LT and the running game is done.

If they kept Brees it would have extended LT's explosiveness for 2-3 more years. Then if they never drafted Rivers in the first place they could have traded down to get Larry Fitzgerald. Could you imagine a team with Brees, Fitzgerald, V. Jackson, Gates, LT and Sproles as a change of pace back?

Doubtful. Quarterback play isn't their weakness IMO.

If they don't draft Manning and get the picks for him, they don't draft Merriman (roided Merriman) and Kaeding.....

Not sure, do you think Brees excels without SP as his coach?

Saints run a wide open passing offense. Chargers are getting more into it the last 2 years but didn't run anything close when Brees was there. Drew excels in his current offense and the Chargers did not have the ideal situation for his skills at the time he left.

That's my take anyway.

Actually, if they didn't get rid of Michael "burner" Turner, they might have gotten to the SB way before this. Bad move on their part!

Shottenheimer was the one who handcuffed the offense. Norv Turner would let the QB make plays. Also remember Brees had no WR's when he was in San Diego. If I recall he had an old Keenan McCardell and a roided up injured David Boston.

If Chargers kept Lorenzo Neal and Brees they would have a ring.
