My brother and I are going to Vegas for the WCC Tourney from March 4 - 8. A few vegas questions for my esteemed audience-

1. The Tourney is at The Orleans - Will any Vegas books be posting lines?

2. My brother and I play sports, blackjack, and poker. What book here is the least shitty and most conducive to what we play and also traveling to The Orleans for the games.

Circus Circus - $40/Night
Excalibur - $60/Night
Flamingo - $78/Night (have stayed here)
Stratosphere - $47/Night
Bally's - $79/Night (have stayed here)
Imperial Palace - $42/Night (leaning this way due to location)
Riviera - $43/Night (probably last on my list)

Any input is greatly appreciated. I've researched the archived threads but am looking for more specific input here.

Thanks,
- Mikey

bj on the strip is bad. sports for watching or for wagering? excal is a pit but closest to orleans. poker at most of those listed is about the same. what are you looking to play?

If you are not staying at The Orleans my best advice from your list is to stay at Excalibur.Taxi ride will be cheaper as it is right down the street.
The Orleans has all your needs right there.BJ is good and they have a big poker room.Food is good also ,as there is a TGIF and Fuddruckers along with Subway ,Sbarro. Real sleeper in Canal Street for a nice dinner and Prime Rib Loft also. Good Buffett.
Spacious race and sports book with a good staff .
All other hotels you quoted for prices are on strip and it becomes difficult on week ends to get around with all congestion.
Depending on budget MGM or Mandalay Bay are great places to stay that are close to The Orleans.

Avoid Circus Circus at all costs, it's extremely loud, and you have to fight off all the rug rats, and I don't trust the BJ dealers there.

Riveria is out of the way.

I stayed at the MGM for my honeymoon, only drawback is is it's gigantic.

Excalibur may be your best value on your list

Since the pool won't be open(I don't think),Flamingo stinks.

Bally's is the only one that I would recommend.I would stay at The Orleans over any pf these places.

Excalibur,Circus Circus,The Strat & Riviera are all horror shows that should be imploded.Stay clear

there is a free shuttle to the Orleans from Wild Bills I think... no need to take a taxi.

I like the Orleans Arena... we went to a tournament there last year.

Went to the tourny last year. Had 5 minutes till tip and won a little over 350 on my last hand of poker (held 9-9 vs. A-A) against a fan of my rivals team, grabbed a yager and a heineken, took a piss and made it into seats in time to see St.Mary's get a technical before the game started.

Heads Up. The Orleans doesn't list WCC tourny games.

The walk from Excalibur to The Orleans on Tropicana might be the safest crack-, hooker-, homeless-, raw sewage smelling-alley in the world. And everytime you don't pay for a cab is another hand of blackjack

If I was too broke to take a cab I'd just stay home. :ohno:

My brother booked us at Hard Rock for 40/night Thurs - Monday.

So although that is COMPLETELY out of the way, the deal was too good to pass up. At least we know that we'll have a clean room and pretty decent hotel.

I love the input in this thread. Please keep it coming!

Will other books post WCC Tourney lines in Vegas?

Also, I've played poker at Bellagio, Ballys, Orleans, Luxor (sucked), Alladin (gone). Where is the best play on the strip to play $1/2 no-limit right now?

Can I play $5 min BlackJack at Orleans? I remember playing $1roulette there back in 05. That was legit.

Feel free to share your input. It is much appreciated!

Those are pretty good rates. I'm going to be in Reno/Tahoe the same time frame and I got decent rates on Friday and Sunday (in Reno) but couldn't get a good rate for Saturday (paying $105 at Harrahs that night). Staying in Tahoe the next 6 nights....

You can play $5 black jack 24/7. I worked there for 4 years in the early 2000's. I go in there about once a month to hang out with some friends I used to work with so this is official.Definitely one of my favorites Casinos in Las Vegas.

I've stayed there in the past Rail. Just looking for a different experience, since I'll be attending games there throughout the weekend.

Mr. Leisure- Great site recommendation. I've been reviewing that this evening. Thanks for sending.
