I have an old black powder muzzle loader, from info i have gathered

made in 1862 london
proof marks are from birmingham
it is in really good condition

anyone here have a history on these type of guns, i would like to get as much info as i can and maybe see what its worth. any ideas where to look or any things i can look for on the gun to help get more info

in the 'pawn stars' show sometimes people show up with old guns , they bring experts that can tell if the marks are the appropiate ones

whatever you do , do NOT clean it, that seems to be one of the classic mistakes, the 'patina' that comes along with an old gun is, by itself, a valuable part of the gun

Did you see that double barreled ,2 trigger coachman gun with the spring bayonet ? That thing was frickin great

I wouldn't waste your time trying to figure it out. Take it to a few gun shops or a gun show. Someone with the knowledge will have to see it in person to give you the best estimate.
